Holland Creek Apartments
The Holland Creek Apartments is a multi-residential building composed of 96 residential suites. In reflection to the complex nature of the site and its location of being situated between two creeks, the building is composed of two stepped wings that are each four-storeys in height. The building is nestled along the edge of the SPEA setback providing views of the neighbouring forest spaces. Due to the grade changes across the property, there are three entries to the building.
A pedestrian entrance is located at the level 1 SE corner of the building; a main entry to the residential apartments occurs centrally within the L-shaped building next to the entry loop on the second level, servicing the central and lower site parking; and a secondary main entrance occurs on fourth floor of the building for those using the upper site parking area. Nestled amidst the landscaping, an outdoor picnic area is located near this fourth floor entrance, providing a space for those residing at the apartments to enjoy the parklike forest that surrounds the property. To slow the progress of rainwater run-off, dense landscaping and a series of bio- swales have been designed to filter the rainwater prior to it joining the surrounding creeks.
